Is it weird to buy myself a name necklace for mother's day?
Asked 3 years ago
I recently gave birth to my son, and raising him with my partner has been a wonderful experience. I've always wanted to be treated like a princess on Mother's Day. I don't know what my partner has planned, but I'd like to get myself some jewelry, particularly an Arabic name necklace. Is it strange to get my own gift?

It is definitely not strange or weird at all! You don't need your partner, or anyone else to give you jewelry as a gift. If there's a special piece you want to have, you can — and must — go and get it for yourself! Giving birth and raising a young child is such a special and momentous time, so why not show yourself some appreciation. It is an empowering reward as a new mom!
