How thick should be a name necklace when gifting to a man?

This Christmas, I'd like to get my husband some jewelry. I've been thinking about getting him a white gold necklace to add to his collection for special occasions. My husband is quite tall; however, I'm still figuring out what thickness looks best on a tall man. Is it necessary to match his height to the thickness of the necklace?

The simple answer is no - it's not necessary. The most important aspect is for the necklace to match his style and preferences. To help though, the most common chain width and thickness for men are between 2mm – 6mm, corresponding to their neck size, body type, and the purpose of the chain.
